What is Stardrift?

Stardrift is a persistent space MMO played entirely inside Discord. No launcher, no client download — just slash commands and buttons in your server.

The universe is a shared galaxy of over 100,000 star systems. Each Discord server that joins becomes one of those systems. You mine asteroids, haul cargo across light-years of space, undercut rivals at the market, and eventually build a corporation that spans the galaxy.

Core Concept

One Discord server = one solar system.

When your server enrolls in Stardrift, it claims a system from the galaxy and becomes a live node in the shared universe. Other players can warp in, trade at your station, or just pass through on their way somewhere else.

The game's home server hosts Sol Nexus — the central hub at galactic coordinates (0, 0) where every new pilot spawns.

How it Works

All gameplay happens through Discord interactions:

  • Slash commands/mine, /sell, /travel, /map, and more
  • Buttons — confirm a jump, sell your cargo, mine again with one click
  • Location-based channels — each system has dedicated channels for the station market, planets, asteroid belts, and a travel hub. You can only interact with a system's channels when your ship is docked there.
